We had a great experience with Northstone Solar. After talking to them for a couple years we finally decided to bite the bullet and install 46 panels on our house in Whitefish. Thomas and Curran are true solar professionals. They are communicative and were very accommodating with their scheduling. They handled all the permitting and licensing as well as setup with Flathead Electric. Our Enphase system is awesome, wifi-enabled, has a great mobile app and is able to integrate with HomeAssistant to further build out our smart home. Highly recommend them for anyone considering solar in the valley.

When we decided to add a solar system to our new home, we did quite a bit of research looking for the best local solar installers. If you are considering a photovoltaic system for your home or business, you should look no farther than Northstone Solar. From our first meeting through to the commissioning of the 7.56 KVA grid-tied system on the roof of our 100+ year old home, these guys were top notch and professional. I got other bids, but after meeting Thomas and Curran it was clear who I wanted working on my home. They knowledgeably answered all my questions, demonstrated a thorough understanding of the process, kept in constant communication, showed up when they said they would, and finished the project on schedule. They not only designed the system, but also did the actual installation. I like that they are local, active in other aspects of our community, and plan to be here for a while. I received multiple recommendations about their commitment to provide support and service to their past solar installations and resolving difficulties with systems installed by other providers. Finally, our solar project was combined with a fairly significant electrical upgrade and Thomas and Curran went out of their way to work with our electrical contractor. When Enphase's the bi-directional charger comes on-line, we will definitely be calling Northstone Solar.
Northstone Solar installed PV panels on two separate projects for me in the Flathead Valley. They were responsive to phone calls, showed up when they said they would, did a high-quality install in challenging fall weather, charged what they quoted, and were a pleasure to deal with through the entire process. Thomas and Curran got me up and running with a 16 panel system, including moving and updating my electrical meter, within a few weeks of reaching out to them last spring. This was convenient timing and a relatively easy roof to work on at my house for sure as they were able to slot me in between some other jobs that they had, but they'll work hard to get your solar system installed and up and running. I appreciated the full transparency on cost up-front too, with no surprises down the line. I have no complaints with the system, it produces power well, and fully zeroed out my electrical costs before I decided to buy an electric vehicle. I wouldn't hesitate to reach out to them to expand my system in the future.
I got a system from Northstone in 2021. Installation went smoothly, the price was exactly what they said it would be, and everything worked perfectly once installed.
Now, almost four years later, they still check in if/when they see online that there are any issues with production. It's always just snow that's slowing production down, but I love that they're monitoring to make sure the system they installed is still working.

Curran designed and installed our array in October 2021. The panels are producing far beyond our usage and we are banking energy credits.Curran and team also replaced our roof shingles to add longevity to the overall project. We have recommended Northstone Solar many times already and will continue to do so in the future.
We started to look at installing solar panels on our home in late Spring 2020. I contacted 3 companies. Two, simply took a snapshot of our roof from a Google satellite photo, slapped some panels on it and provided a very optimistic “analysis” of the payback period. Lee and Curran with Northstone Solar were different. They actually came out to the house, climbed on the roof, took measurements to determine the actual solar exposure and then provided a realistic analysis of what we might expect for solar production and payback period. Throughout the design and installation process they were detail oriented and treated it like they were putting the system on their own home. They took into account roof loading, the length of electrical runs to minimize losses and the ease of access for a potential future battery installation. The results have been more than we hoped for. We are into our second full year of the system’s operation and from April/May through Jan/Feb our electric bill consists of the basic monthly fee/demand charge all Flathead Electric Coop customers pay and nothing for actual electricity. If you are looking for a solar company that is honest, straightforward and will do the job right the first time, you can’t do better than Northstone Solar!

I was very impressed with the professionalism and enthusiasm that these two young men displayed from the beginning. They came out to the site which was 55 miles away just to do an assessment and I could see that they knew their profession very well. The install was rescheduled and rescheduled again because I was encountering medical issues and I was so thankful they were willing to work with me so it fit in with my schedule. Eventually, when Curran came out and completed the job (I communicated with both he and Thomas) I was extremely impressed with how quickly he worked and how willingly he completed the job and then offered help with anything I had beyond that because I had a fractured pelvis at the time. I would definitely recommend them for anyones solar power needs, they are extremely honest and efficient.
